Achieving healthy skin all begins with a daily skincare routine and products. Dedication to that routine determines the outcome of your skin. It is not that different from working out and getting into great shape with the help of a personal trainer. It is all about focus and dedication, determining your goals and not getting distracted!
Begin by doing your research, clarify your skin health goals, and decide on one or two products that contain key ingredients that are relevant, active, and targeted to your skin’s needs. Plan to introduce and use these products consistently. Start with one product, maybe two. We recommend finding a solid daily cleanser and daily lotion before moving into toners, serums, and other skincare products. Have patience, don’t allow the allure of other products that sound great and make enticing claims to alter your product path. Commit to it single-mindedly and use the chosen products until you’ve used it for long enough to determine whether it's making a significant difference to the concern that you were trying to address. Only then do you bring in other products and start to build on the routine.
Jumping from one product to another can wreak havoc on your complexion and skin health. Ask your Aesthetician, favorite beauty junkies, youtubers, and influencers – swapping skin care products frequently is problematic. You will not know the true effects of a product until three months has gone by. You will have a sense at four to six weeks, but you won't actually see the turn-around of the targeted condition you are trying to resolve until three months of consistent use of a daily cleanser and daily lotion.
If you’re constantly switching products, your skin can’t adjust, and you’ll never really know what product caused what reaction in your skin. Remember, products can cause purging, or trigger flare-ups in inflammation before their benefits kick in. Finding the right combination of products for use day and night can take a lot of trial and error.
Let’s be honest. You won’t achieve more youthful looking, blemish free or evenly toned skin overnight. Your skin will need time with this new routine. Customize a regimen for your skin’s needs and make sure that you do it daily. Consistency and patience are the key! Take time each day to show your skin love by implementing both a morning and evening routine and you will be well on your way to achieving radiant and gorgeous skin.
When you take care of your skin religiously, it will take care of your body too and vice versa. The skin works very hard every night to regenerate new skin cells, and lack of sleep as well as dehydration can cause your skin to look unhealthy and dull. When you maintain a consistent skin care routine, your skin cells turn over faster each night, and this will allow your skin care products to work much better.
Taking good care of your skin health daily will save you money in the long run. Skin problems like deep wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, or other skin issues can be prevented with a daily skin care routine and can prevent costly trips to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon in the future. Always keep in mind, the best preventative is sunscreen!
You may know someone with beautiful skin but doesn’t have a skincare routine at all. Lucky them for having great DNA! Unfortunately, that’s not the reality for most of us. Remember different skin types, lifestyles and over-all health can affect each person in a different way, which explains why our skin’s maintenance level is not the same as others.
