Balancing Rosacea & Redness

Balancing Rosacea & Redness

Rosacea and redness-prone skin conditions are some of the most difficult to control. Years of research, unfortunately, have yet to provide a cure but have been able to provide a more in-depth look at the condition itself and ways to control the symptoms that present themselves on the skin.

Let's start with the condition itself; Rosacea is a chronic but treatable condition that primarily affects the central part of the face, and is often characterized by active cycles and dormant cycles. Although rosacea may develop in many ways and at any age, it typically begins any time after age 30 as flushing or redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead. Studies have shown that over time the redness tends to become ruddier and more persistent, and visible blood vessels may appear. Left untreated, inflammatory bumps and pimples often develop, which can sometimes be misdiagnosed as acne.

When it comes to controlling Rosacea, several topical ingredients have been shown to control some of the above mentioned symptoms. Omitting triggers such as certain lifestyle choices may help as well.

Now that we have taken a look at some of the things to avoid flare-ups of Rosacea and persistent redness in the skin, let's take a look at what we can do to keep the skin calm, balanced and happy.

Skin Care To Help Control Symptoms

Probiotics have been shown to help reduce redness, irritation and relentless inflammation in the skin. Maybe even more important, probiotics help to balance the microbiome, the skin's natural protective barrier. This, in turn, helps to balance skin pH, bacteria, fungi and pathogens that can also be a trigger for the symptoms associated with Rosacea.

GLOWBIOITCS Probiotic Skincare not only formulates with beneficial probiotics, we also include prebiotics, which help to calm and soothe the skin. Sourced from Beta-Glucan (from oats) these prebiotics help to "feed" the good bacteria, energizing the probiotics to be even more beneficial and balancing to the skin.
